We are pleased to have the executive directors from Jewish Social Services of Madison and Hanan Refugees Relief Group join us for Refugee Shabbat. Kai Yael Mishlove Gardner and Shiela Badwan respectively have both worked extensively serving immigrants, refugees and asylees.

Kai has a long history of advocating for vulnerable communities and expertise in developing programs that encourage and promote cross collaboration as evidenced by her engagement as one of the Wisconsin 14 of the Citizens Solutions Project.

Sheila has extensive community collaboration experience volunteering and developing projects with refugee, immigrant and differently abled populations.

Both ladies were identified as part of 100 most influential people in the  This is Milwaukee Project and both have created opportunities for building bridges among cultural communities.

Sheila and Kai will update us on the plight of refugees since the start of the new presidential term and how we can help.
