First day in Jerusalem!
Debra and I had a very restful trip from Chicago to Tel Aviv via Madrid. When we arrived on Wednesday evening, Dor was waiting for us at Ben Gurion airport, and he took us, our luggage, and Debra’s bike box to Jerusalem where he left us at our apartment hotel – the Shamai Suites.
We had our first taste of Israeli cuisine at one of our favorite spots on Ben-Yehuda Street, Moshiko, where they serve wonderful schnitzel and shawarma.
On Thursday, we visited Machaneh Yehudah, the Jewish marketplace in the center of the city. They have such beautiful stands with every type of food that you can imagine, and the colors of all the food are vivid. We will be taking many more pictures here in the days to come.
