From Our President
As I look back over the last year, I have come to understand a saying from John Steinbeck “We do not take a trip, a trip takes us”. The Women of Emanu- El (WE) Board and members are committed to “WE” and have such diverse ideas and concerns that we are looking to next year’s planning to fit it all in. Some of these ideas include revision of the Bylaws, applying for the WRJ Or Ami “Light of My People” Award, and more.
With summer so close you can almost taste it! I have already been planning and filling up my “free” days with activities. It is easy to continue to fill our days. Summer is a time to be with friends and family, going to family reunions, vacations and ideally a time to slow down. It is refreshing to know that our home at Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun is open to us year round so that we can choose to be part of the trip and not just go through the motions of day-to-day things.
The Annual meeting was a success! We had a panel discussion put on by the “After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD)” survivorship organization. The information gained there I know may help you or others that are close to you ease the journey to recovery.
Not a member? We want to invite you to join us at meetings, events, and anything else your heart desires. Surrounding yourself with your friends, (we have non-members of CEEBJ in “WE”), can make Women of Emanu-El your monthly girls’ night out. I think that we choose carefully with whom we spend our valuable time. “WE” are the “Sisterhood of Friends,” come and give us a try!
