From Our President
August is the month of new beginnings. At CEEBJ we celebrate a fresh start at the Annual Picnic. As we ready ourselves for the New Year in September, the Women of Emanu-El (WE) are excited to welcome current and new members and their family and friends.
We invite the women to get to know each other through our many activities including our monthly meetings, Coloring and Canasta, the CEEBJ picnic, WE Honey Sale, WE Shana Tova Card fundraiser, Mah Jongg and Munchies, and, on October 17, WE will bring to CEEBJ Guest Author “Maggie Anton.” She recently published Fifty Shades of Talmud. She has also published Rashi’s Daughters to be followed by National Jewish Book Award finalist, Rav Hisda’s Daughter: Apprentice, and its sequel, Enchantress. She still studies women and Talmud. Anton has lectured throughout North America and Israel about the history behind her novels. We are excited for her presentation which is open to the entire Jewish community.
The Women of Emanu-El welcomes members to join our sisterhood regardless of their affiliation throughout the Jewish community. Membership is $45 per year. Our voices are heard through our affiliation with the Women of Reform Judiasm Midwest District of the Union of Reform Judiasm.
WE is a strong Sisterhood and encourage our members to reach out to others and join us, as WE are “stronger together.”
Our meetings are the first Thursday of the month. Hope to see you there!
