Camp and Conference Day at CEEBJ

Mark your calendar for December 17 and plan to spend the morning at CEEBJ. For those with children in Religious School, teachers will be conducting conferences. This is your chance to get to know your teacher better, to ask every question you can think of, and to hear about your child’s progress and goals for the next semester. This year every grade is holding conferences! Sign up for your time slot directly with your children’s teachers.

While adults are meeting with teachers, students and madrichim and a few special visitors from OSRUI will spend the morning in camp style learning and fun. We’ll be running and playing and learning without even realizing it. This part of the morning is open to non-religious school students with RSVP! If your K- 6th grade MJDS student would like to spend the morning in games and activities with us simply email me at [email protected] by December 10.

For the adults of participating kids and all those waiting for conferences, we have plenty of activity for you too. Susan Alexander, Assistant Director of OSRUI will be with us for the morning answering questions, showing off the camp video and making sure you have all the information you need to sign your child up for an amazing summer at OSRUI. We’ll also have space set up where you can learn about and contribute to our CEEBJ camp scholarship funds. We as a congregation believe in the value of Jewish camping and are working hard to help any kid who wants to go to camp get there this summer, but we need your help!

Though summer feels far away, the time for registering for camp and applying for scholarships is upon us already. Mark your calendar for December 17 and make it the day you finalize your summer camp plans.

If you’d like to help or want more information, please contact me directly.

Congregational PURIM Retreat at OSRUI
February 23 – 25
This spring we return to OSRUI for a weekend full of camp fun for all ages. If you loved camp as a kid and can’t wait to re-live those memories… if you never went to camp and are still mad at your parents about it… want to spend a Shabbat enjoying time with family and friends away from it all… or just love the idea of a weekend learning and making new friends – this is the weekend you’ve been waiting for! We’ll celebrate Shabbat, we’ll play, sing, and certainly roast marshmallows by a fire, and we’ll spend time engaged in learning from our tradition together!

For two days and nights of fun, all meals and activities, this program costs $180 for those 16 years-old and older, $85 for those under, based on double occupancy rooms. To have your own room there is an additional $65 fee. Financial support is available!

A week before Purim we know that the party will be at OSRUI, help us make the most of the time by participating in the planning! We’re building our committee now and need your input! Contact [email protected] to join the team.
