I am pleased to report that our congregation has been growing over the past several years. This speaks to the fact that what our community provides in terms of spiritual growth, learning, and connection is what many in the greater Milwaukee area are seeking, the Jewish home created by our wonderful clergy.
As we grow, our challenges remain. One of these is financial. Despite our numbers, our revenue growth from voluntary commitments has been minimal. To continue as a strong and thriving congregation, CEEBJ must be an important part of the annual charitable giving of each of our member families. If you have already returned your annual commitment form, thank you.
If you have not yet done so, please consider doing so as soon as possible, if this is within your means, and with a meaningful increase over last year. Special thanks goes to the members of our Chai Society, who are giving above the sustaining level (annual expenses divided by number of member families) of $3500.
You can also help us continue our growth by encouraging friends and family to join CEEBJ for the coming year, particularly as the High Holy Days are fast approaching. You may put them in touch with our new Executive Director, Andrew Appel, or our new Membership Committee Chair, Michael Taibleson.
I know that, together, we can keep CEEBJ strong for ourselves and our families, for this generation and the generations to come.
