From Our President

The Brotherhood has been around for over 90 years, and continues to be a vibrant part of this congregation. All of the programs and fundraising that we do, could not be accomplished without the volunteers who give of their time for the betterment of the congregation. While the Brotherhood membership nears almost 175 members, we still need your help.

Our two most lucrative fundraisers are working at the Brewers Concession Stands and the Congregational Directory. It’s that time of the year, when we start to think of warmer thoughts, baseball and hot dogs. After our most successful year, we are looking to build on that and get some new volunteers to help work at the Brewers’ games. You need to be 18 years of age, so grab your kid (I know I am this year), and let’s have some fun raising money.

Kudos to Dan Wilkinson, Mark Holland and everyone who worked on this year’s Congregational Directory. The Directory looks great and is our largest fundraiser. We are always looking for help with sales, editing or help putting this massive project together. You would be surprised at how many people are involved in this endeavor, and we would welcome you joining in.

I am inviting you to become more involved with the Brotherhood. We have a number of members, who have decades of experience in running our programs, and they would love to share their knowledge and expertise. This is not a part-time job, nor a permanent commitment, it won’t keep you from your family time. I promise you will not be left on an island to fend for yourself. We are looking for the next generation of Brotherhood members to help transitioning to the future. This will also allow us to expand our programming and fundraising activities and ensure that the Brotherhood will be around for another 90 years.

If any of these opportunities sound appealing to you, or you have another idea, please reach out to me, or join us for dinner and a meeting. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 6 pm. Remember, this is open to all members of the Brotherhood, or those who are interested in learning more about the Brotherhood.
